Carl Sell is the Assistant Director of the TRIO McNair Scholars Program, a federally funded grant from the U.S. Department of Education meant to make a significant contribution to increasing the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented minority individuals who attain doctoral degrees.
In this role, he will coordinate our student data collection, analysis, and reporting requirements. He will also help to promote the success of programming, enrichment activities, and the facilitation of training and ongoing support of program collaborators.
Carl joins the Student Success Hub from Pitt TRIO SSS, where he served as an Academic Advisor. He previously served as the Interim Director and Assistant Professor at Lock Haven University for TRIO SSS. He has experience in teaching, as a writing specialist, and in graduate school preparation. He holds a PhD in English Literature and Criticism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where his research is focused on Arthurian Literature and pop culture.
