Steven Anderson

  • Academic Coordinator for Student Success

Steven Anderson (he/him) serves the Student Success Team as an Academic Coordinator for the Kessler Provost Scholars program, a program that supports cohorts of twenty first-generation students throughout their undergraduate degree. 

In addition to providing direct support to Kessler Scholars, Steven will provide academic coaching to students in the Student Success Hub, a space for students to collaborate with each other and with University resources in Langley Hall. 

Steven returns to Pitt after a stint at the University of Maryland. While at Maryland, Steven served as the Student-Athlete Advisor in the University’s School of Public Health. 

Steven’s first role at the University of Pittsburgh was as an Academic Advisor in the First-Year Engineering program in the Swanson School of Engineering. 

Originally from Philadelphia, Steven earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple University and a Master of Education degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. 

Steven is a first-generation student himself and is eager to offer support for all Pitt students, regardless of background or circumstance.
